Strategy and values
We are continuing to develop so that we remain relevant for Switzerland in the future. Our goal is clear: we want to make everyday life easier for people and companies in Switzerland and provide real added value. This way, we sustainably secure the universal service and public service and continue to finance them from our own resources. We are continuing to develop our range of services both physically and digitally, sustainably and reliably.

Our strategy at a glance
Originally developed in 2020, we are continuing our “Swiss Post of tomorrow” strategy until 2028 and adapting it to current market conditions, while always keeping the 2030 horizon in mind.
Through the expansion and development of our products and range of services, we are strengthening our market position and modernizing our branches. We are entering into targeted partnerships to achieve this.
There is an even greater focus on customers and their needs, especially private customers and SMEs. At the same time, we engage in regular dialogue with our political stakeholders and align ourselves with the strategic goals set by the Federal Council. Postal legislation provides the regulatory and legal framework.
Our investments in the future
To ensure we can promptly react to current and future trends, we have set ourselves a clear goal: we want to continuously improve and develop our entire range of services so that, in future, we offer all our customers added value – whether they are companies, authorities or private individuals.
To achieve this, we are expanding our presence in selected markets and increasing investment in areas where new customer needs exist or will arise.
It is not about growing as a company, but instead restoring balance to the Swiss Post system. Growth allows us to finance the universal service from our own resources and provides the means for future investment in our country’s infrastructure.
Our markets and core competencies
We continue to focus on the logistics, communications, mobility and financial services markets. These markets are organized into four Group units and supplemented by PostalNetwork – the face of Swiss Post for private customers and SMEs.
Together, these units aim to ensure that people, companies and authorities in Switzerland and beyond can interact safely and seamlessly.
Our mission and core competency are front and center: the trustworthy transport of goods, information, people and values – with physical and digital services. We want to continue building on our strengths in the digital age, just as we have done with mail secrecy for over 175 years.
Our priorities in implementation
Strengthening the core business
We are developing our existing services in a targeted way and ensuring a strong public service.
Targeted growth
We are developing in selected areas where we see potential and create real added value.
Becoming simpler and faster
We are simplifying our structures and processes. This makes our organization faster and more efficient.
Our impact
We take responsibility for the sustainable development of the economy and society, for our employees and for the environment. Seven strategic ambitions take all these dimensions into account. They help us manage our strategy in a targeted manner and measure our progress.
Customer-centrict
We know our customers’ needs. On this basis, we are improving our range of services and continually developing them. We offer a consistent customer experience with tangible added value. Business and private customers have the same high satisfaction level and recommend us to others.
Targeted and sustainable growth
We are achieving targeted growth in selected market areas in logistics, communication, mobility and financial services. In doing so, we are securing the financial resources for future investments and making an important contribution to our self-sustainability. We are focusing consistently on ever-changing needs and investing in areas where there is long-term potential for the future.
Self-sustaining
We ensure sustainable value creation through targeted growth. We are continually improving our operating procedures, increasing the efficiency and quality of our services in the long term. We check our prices regularly and adjust them to market conditions in consultation with the price regulator. This ensures we can continue to finance the public service, necessary innovations and investments from our own resources.
Relevant to the general public
With our products and services, we make everyday life easier for the Swiss public, who use these services every day. The services provided for the public service meet the expectations and needs of a majority. We are continually developing this service in collaboration with customers, politicians, our owner and other stakeholders.
Digitally and physically connected
We connect the physical and digital worlds. With our traditional physical services, we remain close to people. We are increasingly supplementing our tried-and-tested range of services with digital solutions and additional functions. We promote digitization in Switzerland by expanding digital services and access points.
What we stand for
Our strategy shows the direction we are taking. Our raison d’être, our vision and our values show what we stand for and how we act. They connect our goals with our day-to-day work.
