Energy-efficient buildings and infrastructure
We are continuously improving our buildings, one step at a time. We are renovating existing buildings, using renewable energy and constructing new buildings to clear standards. From 2030, we aim to heat 80% of our own buildings in Switzerland with renewable energy and construct 90% of our new buildings to the Swiss DGNB standard.
What we have already achieved (as of 2025)
25 buildings renovated to improve energy efficiency (since 2021)
Allowing us to reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling in the long term.
66% of buildings fitted with renewable heating systems
We are equipping our buildings in Switzerland with heating systems such as heat pumps, wood pellet heating or district heating.
7 new buildings constructed to recognized standards (since 2021)
Since 2021, seven new buildings have been certified to the Minergie standard or received a certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
Sustainable construction, renovation and operation
Building and renovation to DGNB standards
For new buildings, we meet the Swiss DGNB standard.
Renovation and energy savings
As part of our "casa verde" initiative, we assessed around 400 buildings to determine their renovation potential. We use this basis to plan and systematically implement measures, with a particular focus on heating systems.
Regular inspection and optimization
We regularly inspect and improve over 80% of our technical systems in buildings. Simple measures allow us to reduce energy consumption by more than 10%.
Zitat

At the Real Estate unit, our most effective strategy is the long-term use and systematic energy-saving renovation of existing buildings – allowing us to reduce resource consumption and energy requirements.
Clean energy for buildings and mobility

Solar power generation
We generate our own electricity using solar panels installed on the roofs and facades of suitable buildings – for example at Swiss Post's logistics locations. Where possible, we use this electricity directly on-site, making buildings more efficient and contributing to the energy supply.

Environmental management with clear standards
A certified environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 helps Post Real Estate to systematically implement and continuously develop environmental requirements.
