Renewable energy for us and our partners
We are increasingly using renewable energy and expanding our own energy production. By 2030, we aim to provide 6,000 charging stations for our electric fleet. Our partners and other customers will also benefit.
What we have already achieved (as of 2025)
17% renewable energy in our total energy consumption
We use energy in different forms for our day-to-day operations: electricity, motor fuels and heating fuels. Renewable energy accounts for around one sixth of our total energy consumption.
100% electricity from renewable energy sources in Switzerland
For our electricity requirements, we use only certified electricity from renewable energy sources in Switzerland.
11 GWh of solar power per year
In 2025, our photovoltaic systems produced almost 11 gigawatt-hours of solar power.
2,600 charging stations in Switzerland
We are continuously expanding our charging infrastructure to secure the energy supply for our vehicles and those of third parties. By the end of 2030, we aim to install more than 6,000 charging stations.

How we help ensure security of supply
As we electrify our vehicle fleet, our electricity requirements are increasing. This also increases the need for reliable charging infrastructure. We support the reliable operation of e-mobility by combining smart charging systems, forward-looking energy planning and renewable electricity generation. This provides the basis for safe, economical and scalable operations.
Scalable charging infrastructure
We plan and build our charging infrastructure proactively and based on data. This allows it to grow in line with demand and provides the basis for reliable and economical long-term operation.
Smart energy management
By managing charging and energy flows in a targeted way, we avoid peak loads, optimize electricity consumption and use existing infrastructure more efficiently. This ensures stable operations while reducing costs.
Charging infrastructure for third parties

PowerUp – the charging network for Switzerland
At suitable Swiss Post branch locations, we are building public charging stations for electric vehicles belonging to private customers and other companies. This enables the public to benefit from our infrastructure and our expertise in e-mobility. Our locations form part of the nationwide PowerUp charging network, which we are developing in partnership with fenaco.

Expanding our charging and energy systems is central to our transition to e-mobility. Smart charging systems allow us to reduce costs while supporting the switch to renewable energy – for Swiss Post, other companies and the Swiss public
Renewable energy in the bigger picture
Renewable energy is an important lever on the path to net zero. The “Climate and energy” page shows how it supports our overarching climate target.
Where renewable energy has an impact
Renewable energy supports e-mobility in logistics and passenger transport as well as the operation of energy-efficient buildings.
Logistics
Renewable energy powers our electric vehicles and helps reduce CO₂ emissions from transport and last-mile delivery.
