Digital ethics at Swiss Post
We develop digital solutions that are secure, trustworthy and easy to use. In this way, we create digital services that people can understand and use with confidence, while respecting their data and interests.
Responsibility for digital solutions
Our digital services are part of our customers’ everyday lives. When developing these services, we take values such as fairness, transparency and user control into account. This enables customers to use digital services safely, with clarity and autonomy.
Our guiding principles for digital services
Make a difference
We embed digital ethics values early on in development to create real added value – for people, companies and Switzerland.
Make it good
We consider impacts, data quality and security. We avoid solutions that could have significant negative impacts.
Make it fair
We promote self-determination, avoid exclusion and use technologies only where they are appropriate.
Make it understandable
We communicate clearly, define responsibilities and take feedback seriously.
How we put digital ethics into practice
Digital ethics is an integral part of developing digital and data-driven services. We assess the impacts of our solutions. We define the purposes for which we use data. We protect data and models. We ensure transparency. Where necessary, we involve additional perspectives. In this way, we embed responsibility throughout the entire life cycle of a service.
Responsible use of AI
When we use artificial intelligence, we do so transparently and responsibly. Human oversight remains essential, especially for decisions or recommendations that affect people.
Zitat

In the analogue world, we have mail secrecy, and we want to uphold this in the digital world too.
Digital ethics guidelines
The guidelines outline the ambitions that guide Swiss Post in its digital and data-driven services.
Awards and standards
Responsibility in the digital space is also reflected in recognized standards. For data management and analytics in advertising market services, Swiss Post, through Swiss Post Advertising, has held the Swiss Insights Data Fairness label since 2024.
