150 years compulsory school and the Paris Olympics: Swiss Post honours the anniversary and Olympic Summer Games
Swiss Post’s second stamp issue in 2024 features colourful and fun designs. The traditional or digital stamps will be available at all branches and in the Swiss Post online shop from 2 May 2024.

Olympic Summer Games in Paris
School – for some it seems to last forever, for others it just flies by. Compulsory education has been enshrined in the Federal Constitution for a long time – since 1874. The 150th anniversary of compulsory school is being celebrated this year. A colourful stamp in the style of a hidden picture book was created for the anniversary: it shows a lively playground with children and young people playing and socialising.
Olympic Summer Games in Paris
The Summer Olympics are being held in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024. To mark the occasion, a stamp depicting lots of movement was created. Five of the 32 sports are depicted on it. The venue of the 33rd Summer Olympics is denoted by the dominant colours blue, white and red and the Eiffel Tower. Paris is hosting the Games for the third time.
Garfield in Swiss cinemas
No major US production has been dubbed into Swiss German for over 20 years. This spring, the world’s most famous cat can be seen in cinemas – he even speaks Swiss German in cinemas in German-speaking Switzerland. For this reason, Swiss Post is dedicating two stamps to the film “The Garfield Movie”.
